Velkolom Čertovy schody – západ: Fauna sanovaných a rekultivovaných ploch lomu, monitorovací studie, XVIII. etapa (2015) [The Čertovy schody Limestone Quarry – West: Fauna of reclamated areas of the quarry, monitoring study of the 18th year (2015)]

The research on arthropods focused on two aims in 2015: 1) To compare ecological importance of two types of localities occurring in the limestone quarry “Čertovy schody – West”, and 2) to monitor the arthropods at the bottom and southern wall of the quarry. The localities that are situated near the natural habitats surrounding the quarry, host 3× more spider species than those situated closer to the centre of the quarry. This fact is necessary to consider when preparing management of the localities. A population of a critically endangered lycosid Pardosa wagleri still live at the bottom of the quarry despite ongoing mining. In 2015, 76 spider species were found in the quarry (of these, 14 ecologically important). Among other arthropods, six diplopod, five isopod, three acarid, one opilionid and one pseudoscorpionid species were found.
